Location + Charm Overload = Memorable Vacation

“ Excellent ”
August 9, 2015
Like taking a step back in time, this vacation reminded me of how summers used to be. Blue sky-filled days spent on the beach right across the street, sunsets like right out of the movies from the porch we never wanted to leave. Onset is truly a hidden gem with free music and movies at night weekly and something fun like a festival or sandcastle contest every weekend. No big surf which makes it great for the little ones as well as kayaking and paddle boarding. No driving, no crowds to deal with, no loud clubs or neighbors. We walked to the band shell and pier, local restaurants (Quahog Republic not recommended for food but Mark Anthonys, Stashs, Boston Lobster Roll were all fine for casual dining; Stone Bridge has a great deck with more upscale and expensive options but slow service). The cottage was quaint yet updated with modern essentials like Internet and cable. Really stocked with everything we needed, we had no complaints with the exception of the beds and linens. Not the most comfy but the quiet sea breeze nights made up for it. If you can, bringing your own sheets is advisable since they weren't that great and you're expected to launder them before you leave. Parking and the tenant out back proved to be absolutely no problem at all. We plan on making this a yearly tradition!
