Handmade house on 70 acre former dairy farm. Halfway between Cobleskill and Cooperstown. Very secluded, very peaceful, with 2 ponds, babbling brooks, apple orchards and wild heron on the wetlands. This is one of the most relaxing spots you can imagine. Come and hike the land, ...
My wife Eileen and I are both teachers. Eileen had a very stressful end of the year. I knew I had to bring her away someplace where she could rest and relax. I spotted this former farm on the internet and thought it looked interesting. I spoke to the owner, Mindy,on several occasions. She could not have been nicer or more accomodating.
I picked Eileen up on the last day of school and we headed straight up to the farm. Within an hour of arriving we were both sitting on the deck, sipping a glass of wine, and watching the sun set over the mountains. We eventually retired inside to a roaring fire on the wood stove.
Over the next two days we explored the vast property, read dozens of magazines and newspapers, and repeated our nightly ritual. By the time we returned to the Bronx we were both stress free.
If you are looking to get away and do nothing, nothing that is but relax, then this is the place for you. We are already making plans to return before the start of the new school year.
