We sailed out to Dog Island on what turned out to be a chilly Thanksgiving weekend. The cold didn't stop me from sailing or my daughters from exploring the island and beaches... One of the neighbors was happy to help us with a little fishing and the girls became VERY picky about the shells they found - the longer we stayed, the more elaborate the shells had to be for the girls to care! And some were impressive by ANYONE's standards!
The sunrise thru the windows overlooking the ocean was spectacular (not sure if it comes up that way in the summer, but it was awesome in late November)! And the view was more amazing at night with all the stars and very little artificial light... I'm on old sailor and I got to point out some interesting things to my daughters about the night sky that you just cannot see in areas with alot of light nearby...
The accomodations were excellent for my family of 4. We lacked nothing!
I Look forward to finding a reason to come back...
