We were looking for a place off of the beaten path, but still on a lake, for a week-long peaceful getaway while enjoying the Fall colors and doing some exploring and antique / junk shopping. This cabin was all of that and more! Super clean cabin outfitted with virtually everything you will need except food and drink! It's on a small lake that comes with a boat and electric motor. The fall color reflections on this lake competed with the loons as to what was the best feature of it. Close enough to Eagle River, Rhinelander, and a few other small towns with some great antique, church-run thrift stores, and flea shops/markets. On the edge of a National Forest that offered plenty of opportunities for exploring and bike riding (brought bikes but never used them!). And topping the list, a super great hostess who went over and beyond to insure we had a great time! If you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway, or a peaceful place to decompress, or for a base from which to explore the surrounding area - we highly recommend this comfy cabin to you. If you have high energy children that can't or haven't learned to entertain themselves - this is not the place for you as there aren't kiddie type attractions around. We had 2 different foxes around the cabin, and saw loons, eagles, and deer. If you absolutely have to have that Internet "fix" - Verizon has a very strong signal in this entire area. We turned our smartphone into a hotspot and had fast Internet access all week ( just to check for directions, weather, antique shops - of course!) If you're looking for this type of getaway, we wholeheartedly recommend this cabin, and will make the trip there again!
