I've got to start by saying that having a big family is not always easy to find a place that can accommodate the 6 of us all at one place. This apartment was great because it had plenty of space for all of us! We have 4 children and they were all very comfortable. The apartment is equipped with everything you need. I honestly felt that I was in my own home! The beach was just a few steps away from the apt. and the ocean view was simply beautiful! I'm not sure why but there were barely no one at the beach, so we felt like we've got our own private beach (which we didn't mind at all :)
We did have problems with not having water at the apt. at certain times, but this has nothing to do with the host. It's a problem that is going on apparently everywhere in and near San Juan.
One thing I need to say is that although Aquatica has all that you need to have fun, the place is about 20-25 minutes away from supermarkets and stores and about 35 minutes to Old San Juan. That didn't bother us at all for we had rented a car.
Also I can't forget to mention that the town of Loiza is not a very good looking place. But don't let yourself be deceived by that. For Aquatica is a gated community with security on guard 24 hours. Plus the place is really well maintained and very safe!
The pros about staying in Aquatica (Loiza) versus staying in San Juan is that its much more affordable, you'll be able to be at a very quiet and peaceful place and yet have access to the City where you can find all kinds of restaurants, movie theaters, outlet stores shopping malls and much more!
Just a hint: If you live in NY you will find the move theater tickets to be way cheaper there. We went to the movies twice :)
You cannot leave San Juan before trying one of their main dishes- Mofongo! We had dinned at different places but the best of all was El Platanal. You don't want to miss it!
It was hard having to leave Puerto Rico after staying there for 12 days!
