Hi, we're Diane and Bill!

We are the Hortons, Bill and Diane. Bill is a consultant in Cambridge, Mass. Diane is a potter/sculptor (clay). We live in Foxborough, Mass. home of the New England Patriots. We fell in love with Deer Isle 27 years ago and like many who visit we dreamed of having the opportunity to visit the island annually. John Steinbeck describes is aptly in "Travels with Charlie"the most wonderful place to be but I cannot tell you exactly why."
We found an acre of land on the island (a miracle). We camped there and eventually built our homebased on the sun's travels across this land daily. We designed a house to blend in with the island's landscape and history. We focused on energy saving construction and lightgreat big energy efficient windows and skylights for light and views of the landscape.
