Palmetto Dunes Lagoon Home on Hilton Head
July 19, 2013
My family rented this home and enjoyed the week. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, dishes, glassware, and appliances. The decorations were pretty and modern and the home set-up was open and allowed several gathering areas. The pool, grilling area, deck, and fishing dock was enjoyed by everyone. Some family members felt the mattresses in the bedrooms were uncomfortable, but the rooms were comfortable in general with chairs and closets with hangers. We had three issues with the bathrooms. One sink had a leak with water on the floor, one sink had a broken faucet, and one toilet had a broken seat. The rental company had a plumber at the house within 4 hours to fix the problems. We were very pleased with the quick and friendly repair service. Many of my family members fished from the private dock. Although they enjoyed the time fishing, they were disappointed with the fish they caught. They caught an abundance of tiny fish, but no keepers, despite being long-time experienced fishermen. The walk to the beach was manageable for most family members. My son is handicapped and my father is a disabled Purple Heart recipent Army Veteran and both were unable to walk to the beach with their limited walking abilities. I had to drive my son to the beach multiple times and hunt for parking and my father never got to the beach. My plan was to tow my personal golf cart or rent a golf cart, but was told that golf carts were not alowed in Palmetto Dunes except on the golf courses. Despite that, the home was very comfortable and my family spent quality time cooking and eating together. We enjoyed the large open gathering areas in the home and played family games every single night with laughs and memories that will last forever. Thank you.
