As a high school grad from Buffalo New York in 1967 I went to work on the ships plying the great lakes. After a few semesters at the University of Buffalo, I decided to drop out, and whet commercial fishing along the west coast. Between seasons traveled the world, working on different kinds of boats. Over the next 35 years, with fishing as my mainstay, spent time between Marin County California, Alaska and Hawaii where we built a couple of houses. After the divorce in '97 I came to Mexico and began developing what is now Casa Simpatico. I've retired from fishing and now occasionally vessels for private charter. During that last chapter have taken up the practice of mediation and also open water swimming.
