Hi, I'm Margo!

Both my husband and I have always lived in Southwest Harbor and Tremont on Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia Nagtional Park. Steve is a master electrician and has had his own business for 30 some years. I have had several differenct occupations from parenting to bank manager and most recently own a real estate business with 5 agents. We lived in our first cottage in 1974 while our home was being built on the same 2 acre waterfront parcel. We built or acquired the additional seven over the next 16 years. We love to walk, kayak and bike Acadia as well as cruise the water along the Maine coast.
There are many fine restaurants and shops on the western side of MDI and we shop and eat in them all. We live in a beautiful area and are forever grateful to be able to share it with our guests. Many continue to come year after year and have a favorite cottage that they call their own. Thanks to all of you.

Like new, year round home on Hodgdon Pond, great for swimming and kayaking right from your door step. Down town Bar Harbor or Southwest Harbor is a scenic 15 to 20 minutes away for shops, restaurants, banks, community center, tennis, art galleries and fresh seafood. We have...

The house was great! enough room, very clean, plenty of basic material....The fact this was near the waterfront is also a great value since you can go walking or play with the kids.If you plan to reach Acadia State park for of few day, you may find far from the park. There is traffic and can took 60-90 min to reach the park.Overall - great place to live! but far from the park

The Cohen Cottage also known as #1, is a two- bedroom cottage literally at the water's edge at high tide. One bath has a shower and a washer/dryer; Master bath has two shower heads and the second floor bath has one. There is a king bed in one bedroom and two twins in the other. ...

Our family of four stayed in the Cohen Cottage and we loved it. The photos don't do it justice. There are windows everywhere so you can take in the water view and get a good breeze in the house. It is a "solid" house so I think it would be a lovely getaway in the winter as well - not drafty at all. The master bedroom has a very comfy king bed and big master bathroom. There are two closets & a chest of drawers. The room has lots of windows but also has room-darkening shades that make it nice and dark for sleeping. There is a bedroom upstairs with two twin beds and a full bathroom. The girls loved having their own space and their own bathroom. It has a TV and a ceiling fan. The kitchen is huge and well appointed, plus there is a third full bathroom & laundry room off the kitchen. There are plenty of pots & pans, dishes and glasses and silverware. The kitchen has a round table that doubles as a kitchen island with four stools so you can eat meals there. There are also two stools under a different section of the counter as well. The only thing I was hoping for that wasn't there was a pantry stocked with basic stuff like baking supplies, condiments and coffee. There are a few spices and a tiny bit of cooking oil that were probably left by another renter as well as aluminum foil, clear wrap and wax paper. But we basically had to buy all food stuffs if we wanted to cook in the house. The living room was comfy with plenty of seats, a wood stove, ceiling fan and a big flat screen TV and DVD player. Wood is provided for the wood stove - a nice touch. There are two sofas and two comfy chairs. There is a deck off of the living room with a table and four chairs so you can eat outside. The cottage is right on the water and comes with access to three kayaks and a row boat. But you should note that at low tide the water recedes dramatically and you're left with just mud. So you have to time your boat outings based on the high time schedule. Life jackets are provided as well. There are two one-seaters and a two-seater if you want to make sure everyone can go paddling. This house is a GREAT find. It's quiet and peaceful and beautiful and relaxing - everything you want in a Maine vacation. You will love it as much as we did.
