What A View!
April 22, 2015
We booked this home last minute, and the owner was as nice as can be. She gave us a wonderful last minute discount. When we opened the door and walked into the home, our jaws dropped. The entire back wall is covered in windows and the home is absolutely oceanfront. You really feel like you have a front-row seat to the never-boring show that is the Pacific. I loved the knotty pine walls and the great country feel, including the upgraded bed linens, which feature high thread count cotton sheets, Matelasse coverlets and beautiful quilts. (There are three bedrooms, all with lovely appointments) The upstairs master has a lovely view of the ocean, and I appreciated the second t.v. in the bedroom. I also liked that the t.v. area downstairs was set in a kind of alcove, so that someone could watch t.v. without disturbing those who wanted to watch the ocean and quietly reflect. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked, and I was able to cook almost all of our meals there with no problem. Overall, I loved this rental because it didn't feel like a rental. It felt more like staying at a friend's home. I discovered little extra's all week; whether it was a perfectly positioned throw when it got chilly, the perfect pan for french toast (and the powdered sugar you forgot) lovely little tea-candles for the mantel that smelled wonderful. My husband and I had a wonderful time here. Not to mention the perfect location of the home. It is very close to the inlet (or bay?) on the south end of Lincoln City, literally a ten minute walk along the ocean. We made the loop from the ocean along the beach to the inlet where we saw Heron, pelicans and many sea otters. From there we walked up along the bay, through a beautiful park area, then back around to the house. I would say it is about a mile to a mile and a half, and it's really a lovely walk. I would be more than happy to rent again.
