Perfect Place for Family Gathering
May 25, 2015
We had the best time at the Calhoun's wonderful, comfortable home. There is space for a lot of people and the separate baths for each of the four bedrooms made it ideal for all of our guests who came during the two weeks we were there. There is a fully stocked kitchen that opens to a living room and dining room where we all gathered. We especially enjoyed all the porches - having drinks and eating out there looking at the 12th hole of the Ocean Winds golf course. Also, there are gates on the porches in case you have small children or a dog so they can wander without getting loose. This home is close to the beach - just a short walk to one of the boardwalks and conveniently located near the pool and restaurants. We ate at the new Mexican restaurant, Arriba Cantina Cocina at the Marina and it was wonderful. The convenience of the Harris Teeter grocery at Freshfields came in handy. The whole Freshfields area is fun as they have different events going on all the time and spending some time browsing the great shops is a nice diversion on a cloudy day and several restaurants. Off the island we always eat at Chez Fish - a casual place with the best food which is just down the street on Bohicket. Try to eat at the Fat Hen for a fabulous meal on Maybank Highway and our newest find - the Angel Oak Restaurant on Savannah Highway (17). We went for lunch and then went back for a great dinner. Cute, very small but the food is incredible! Go to Seabrook - you will love it!
