Great Stay For Quiet Anniversary
October 10, 2014
First, this review is loooooong overdue. But our opinion and memories of Greg and Michelle's Sapphire Village condo have only gotten better with time. They have anticipated everything. I can remember no problems with anything of any great consequence. My wife and I were very comfortable and used the condo as a base for our travels. We went out a lot. Start by taking a taxi to the big grocery store and REALLY stocking up. You can walk to the Beach, and it's one of the best beaches by the way on St. Thomas. Highly recommend spending a few days at the St. John's beaches, and this condo is perfectly situated for that. The ferry to St. J's is only a very short safari bus ride away. Be ready though to take a taxi back. Safari down to Red Hook is easy, but taxi is a must to come back. Don't walk there! We were most taken by the balcony at the condo. The view was better than advertised, especially in the morning. Sunrises were an event to behold, and just sitting out there and enjoying the ocean air and the calm of it all was what we were after. We were particularly interested in the history of the islands, and sitting on the balcony, one could just imagine the pirates and shippers cutting through the channel right in front of you. We didn't have updated passports, and that was a bummer. Going to the British VIs are what appears to be an excellent trip. We couldn't go because no passport. There's plenty of fun though to be had if you don't have one. Another great feature of the condo is the boatyard just at the bottom of the hill. Sailboat tours, British VI tours, snorkeling tours etc leave from there. Very convenient. The bathroom is very nice in the condo and recently done over. The bed was more comfortable than our own bed at home (foam mattress top is really nice to sleep on). I could list a few minor details to nitpick, but honestly I'm sure that Greg and Michelle have already fixed them. They are extremely attentive to their condo, and seem to be of the mind to make constant improvements. Oh yea, leave your snorkeling and beach gear at home. They have enough for an army right in the closet. Overall, the complex is very well-taken care of, very safe and nicely attended to. However, you are not in the heart of it all. It's a little removed from the action. However, that is exactly what we wanted. We want to go back again to the island, and we will only stay here if we do. No need to look any further.
