About the owners:
Pastry Chef Mirko Lucchesi was born in Lucca, Italy. Mirko's family owned and operated a bakery since 1960 in Lucca, where he learned most of his baking skills as a child. Mirko decided to go further as a Pastry Chef. At the age of 18 he was accepted to work on the Princess Cruise line. While traveling around the world for 5 years with the cruise line, he came upon Vancouver, Canada and took a strong liking to the city, where he met his wife Tania in 1996. Mirko and Tania opened "La Dolce Vita Bakery & Cafe" in 1999 specializing in Wedding Cakes, fine pastry, Tuscan breads and Tuscan dishes. Tania has 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, tourism, marketing and event planning Mirko, Tania and their son moved to Lucca in 2006 and by 2009 opened Casa Lucchesi Farmhouse.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location:
As we mentioned above Mirko is orginally from Lucca, Tuscany. Since we came from a large city so we wanted to be away from it all, but not too far. We bought this property because of it's location, size, view and tranquility. We knew we were going to open a holiday home for tourists, so we took in consideration to find a home that has easy access to transportaion (train and bus) and amentities for our guests. The farmhouse is located 3km away from Capannori exit (main highway) and 4km from the Lucca exit. This exit is very convenient for guests and ourselves when traveling south or north of Tuscany. The Tassignano train station passes our home and is only a 4 minute walk from the farmhouse for guests who don't want to rent a car.

Casa Lucchesi stone house is welcoming for all ages, especially families. We offer a bit more than other vacation homes because we really like the outdoors to entertain family, friends and our guests. We provide babysitting and Summer Day Camp activities for children aged 5 to 12 years old in English and Italian.
