In 2004 I purchased my first Galveston property. Galveston is where my heart sings. Born in Texas, moving frequently as a child, and "growing up" for the most part in the northeast and midwest, I spent many summers in Galveston where my grandmother lived and my mother was raised. I rode the ferry from Galveston to Bolivar often, feeding the seagulls and getting sunburned. I call it the "poor man's cruise ship".

After my kids all left for college, I studied for and achieved my real estate license in order to be able to manage vacation rentals for other property owners who were looking for exceptional service for themselves and their renters, and started My Galveston Getaway in March, 2012.

Being frustrated with other reservations systems which offer one price for booking - and then add this and add that, I came up with "no-surprise pricing" including taxes, bed linens and bath towels, post-move cleaning and, where required, one parking permit. The only potential add on price is the damage waiver purchase through our vendor partner, but we offer another security deposit option as well - a credit card hold that is lifted once the cleaning crew advises us that the unit has been left in good order with no damages or missing items. We don't like surprises and don't think our valued guests will, either.

My pride and joy is satisfied customers - providing a little more than what is expected and it has paid off in 100% retention of properties we represent, and repeat guests in the very short time we've been in business.
