This 2500 sq. ft. garrison house sits at the end of a cove which affords warm water (a rarity in Maine) on 180 feet on the St. George River. There is no beach however. It also sits at the end of a private cul- de- sak on a private road in the bucolic town of South Thomaston. The...

Mid Coast Maine Vacation

“ Excellent ”
August 1, 2014
I recently spent a week at this house in South Thomaston Maine. The house was beautiful, well supplied and located at the end of a private drive making it very peaceful and serene. My two younger sisters and their families stayed with my husband and I and were quite pleased also. The house was big enough for all of us to visit and enjoy each other's company but also have a little privacy when we needed it. I would definitely recommend this as an ideal vacation spot.

A dream vacation for our family!

“ Excellent ”
August 12, 2014
Our multi-generational family spent a wonderful week at the Carey cottage. We are six adults, two small boys and a baby, and there was plenty of space for us all. The boys were ecstatic when they found the baskets full of toys and the sandbox! We cooked lobster in the big lobster pot provided and ate every meal on the big deck looking out on a fabulous ocean view. Having two refrigerators was very handy. The cottage is tastefully decorated, a very congenial living space. And we loved Islesboro. We went clamming, antiquing, paddle boarding, and ambling around country lanes. The Careys were great, easy to reach by phone with any questions. We hope to return to the cottage next year!
