I am enamored with Belize and you will be too! What I find particularly appealing is the multi ethnicity of the country. One can stroll from one end of a street in San Pedro and hear not only English, the official language, but Spanish, Belizean creole and several dialects of Mayan. Want to pick up another language? Here’s your opportunity! People are open, friendly and kind.
But let me tell you about the Sunset Beach condos! There are only 12 and they are located 2.5 miles south of the hustle and bustle of San Pedro on a tranquil private beach with its own private pier. What more could you ask for? The condos are immaculate yet homey, each furnished in their own unique manner. The charming on site caretaker is a gem. Guests cannot sing his praise enough! One of the most convenient amenities of Sunset Beach is the fact that a very well regarded tour operator, Suya Tours, is located directly behind the condominium complex. Carlos and his guides can take you anywhere! The Carribean offers innumerable opportunities for exploration. Belizean waters boast a myriad of amazing sea creatures, among them the incredible, huge and docile manatee. This beautiful giant is everywhere threatened, but Belize boasts the largest number of remaining manatees in the world. Explore the water from diving and snorkeling to simply hanging out on the beach!
I have traveled extensively in Mexico and Central America. My love of Latin culture and the Spanish language was inspired by my Mexican grandmother. I have been a guide in the southwest (including the Grand Canyon) since 2000 and currently operate a guiding company in Mexico called Copper Canyon Trails. CCT’s signature trip is a 10 day burro supported hiking and camping trip in the beautiful Copper Canyon region of the Sierra Madre in Chihuahua, home to the world reknowned Tarahumarans.
