Hi, I'm Robert!

Our family members are the original owners of this home, which was built in 1972, and we have occupied it continuously until this year.

The current owners are three brothers, Bob Rountree of Deerfield Beach, FL, John Rountree of Atlanta, and David Rountree of Upstate NY.

Bob, who manages the property, is a retired journalist and co-founder of FloridaRambler, a web magazine focused on outdoors recreation in the authentic Florida. Originally from New York, Bob has lived in Florida with his family for more than 35 years.

We have been vacationing in this house since we were very young, visiting our grandparents and our parents while enjoying our truly magnificent beach.

The beach boardwalk down the street is a popular gathering spot for neighbors, especially at sunset, sunrise and during rocket launches at the Kennedy Space Center, a few miles south.

Geographically, our home is on an island at the north end of Cape Canaveral,

I love strolling to the beach at sunrise to fish in the surf. My wife loves to walk the beach in the morning. We paddle our kayaks in Indian River Lagoon, part of Canaveral National Seashore, just a few miles south on A1A.

Our parents were big fans of the paved bike trail on the inside of the island, at the west end of our street, and they would ride the trail daily to the Publix Supermarket, the CVS Pharmacy or Beall's to shop.

Dad, an engineer by trade, was a fixture at Coronado Hardware, where he'd entertain himself and others for hours, The well-stocked but little hardware store is owned by a long-time New Smyrna family.

And that's the kind of town this is. Small, friendly with a smattering of historic charm. There's even a drug store downtown with an old-fashioned soda fountain where the locals meet for lunch.

Our neighbors are friendly and outgoing, and we all watch out for each other.

We love the people and the location. You will, too.

Here is my property:
