Chicago Travel Resources

‘Chicago, the Windy City’ could just as easily be, ‘Chicago, the most awesomely amazing place for any vacation City’.  Chicago truly is one of the more unique US cities, and it doesn’t just connect the east and west coast aeronautically, but in many ways socially and culturally, as well.
Chicago attracts more than 30 million vacationers every year, and it’s easy to see why.

The Navy Pier is Chicago’s most popular tourist attraction. It was originally constructed to cater to the freighters using Lake Michigan to transport goods, before being transitioned into a Navy Training Center, and then a college classroom facility for returning veterans before ultimately being developed into the public gathering spot it is today. Today the Pier Park offers tons of cool amusement park rides, and even has a year-round Ferris wheel and an 18-hole miniature golf course.  There’s great shopping down at the Pier, and many of the best restaurants in Chicago.

What would a trip to Chicago be without an afternoon spent at Wrigley? Wrigley was built in 1914, and hosts more matinee baseball games than any other stadium in Major League Baseball.  While the team doesn’t always win, the crowd is considered to be the most hospitable in baseball and really contribute to a fun filled afternoon of hotdogs and baseball…. And maybe a couple of adult beverages.

If you’re traveling with the kids, there are a bunch of very cool museums that should make the itinerary.  There are more than 40 museums in Chicago, but three of the best for children are the Shedd Aquarium,  the Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum which has an amazingly preserved T. rex.

Chicago is a fantastic place for travel, and it’s no wonder that it is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world!
