Finger Lakes Travel Resources

The Finger Lakes region of New York is a beautiful area in upstate New York that is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination.  Not surprisingly, the region is named after a series of long, skinny lakes that resemble fingers.  In total, there are eleven lakes that populate the region; those lakes are Otisco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, Owasco Lake, Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake, Keuka Lake, Canandaigua Lake, Honeoye Lake, Canadice Lake, Hemlock Lake and Conesus Lake.
One of the many reasons that people travel to the Finger Lakes is for the incredible wineries.

There are more than 100 wineries and vineyards located in the area. Two of America’s oldest wineries even call the Finger Lakes home – O-Neh-Da Vineyard and The Pleasant Valley Wine Company.

The natural beauty of the area is the main attraction, but there are several manmade stops that you’ll definitely want to hit on your next trip. The National Women’s Hall of Fame is located in Seneca Falls, and is truly a remarkable and inspirational place to visit.  Arts and Crafts are a staple of this region, too, and the Rochester Folk Art Guide will provide a bunch of can’t-miss stops for you.

As for the nature, there are countless waterfalls and gorges that need to be on your agenda.  Some of the hot spots to take in the nature are Watkins Glen State Park, Taughannock Falls State Park and Robert H. Treman State Park.
The Finger Lakes is a great vacation for any family! Use the Travel Resources below to plan your trip to this majestic region today!
