Honolulu Travel Resources

Ah, Honolulu, just saying the name of the city is relaxing, right? Honolulu, located on the Oahu island of Hawaii, is the state capital, and most populated city in Hawaii with a population just shy of one million. It's amazing weather, and vibrant Polynesian infused culture make Honolulu both a fun and relaxing vacation destination.

There is never a dull moment in Honolulu. There are several gardens, Foster Botanical Garden, Lili'uokalani Garden, Walker Garden and many more, and a highly praised Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo that should be on family's vacation itinerary. Another recommended educational stop is the Bishop Museum, which carries the largest collection of Hawaiian and Polynesian artifacts in the world - it really is an amazing site, and one you will be disappointed if you miss.

Of course, no trip to Hawaii is complete without some time spent catching a tan at the beach. The Waikiki Beach in Honolulu isn't as large as most people expect, but the sand is beautiful and there is public transportation available to get you and your family in and out without any issues.

Honolulu really is a wonderful capital city. It has all the restaurants and entertainment anyone could ask for, but also manages to exude a calming and relaxing impact on its inhabitants. Honolulu receives a family-friendly rating of a perfect 10, and you won't regret spending your next vacation in this oceanfront oasis.
