Lake Tahoe Travel Resources

Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful freshwater lakes you will ever see. Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Lake Tahoe is an alpine lake and as a result the water is crystal clear. The area’s economy is largely dependent on the tourism industry, and with so much to do in Lake Tahoe Area it’s easy to see why.

There are plenty of terrific restaurants in the area surrounding the lake, and gambling is legal on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, so there are a bunch of casinos in Crystal Bay and Incline Village, if you’re feeling lucky.

The Lake Tahoe area is an active community, and its primary tourist attractions represent that.  In the winter it’s all about hitting the slopes in Tahoe! The area gets hammered with excellent powder, and the many ski resort options satisfy the desire to get out there and shred! Heavenly Mountain Resort, Squaw Valley, Northstar and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are a few of the more popular resorts.  If you love the snow, but aren’t into skiing or snowboarding, the Lake Tahoe area has a bunch of super cool sledding hills. Some the of the hills even have rope tows, so when you have completed the run on your sled or inner-tube you don’t need to worry about walking all the way back up the hill – how cool is that?!?

There’s plenty of outdoor activities when there isn’t snow on the ground, too.  Naturally, the lake is a great venue for watersports. Whether it’s scuba divers, water skiers or tubers there’s always something to do on the Lake.  It’s no surprise that one of the most elite boat shows in the world, the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance is hosted here every year.

Lake Tahoe truly is one of those magical places that everyone should experience at least once. Use the Lake Tahoe Travel Resources below to plan your trip today!
