Myrtle Beach Travel Resources

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is the quintessential beach community, and needs to be on any beach lover’s list of ‘must visit’ locations. With miles of white sandy beachfront, over 2800 hours of sunshine annually and Gulf Stream heated waters, it’s easy to see why more than 14 million travelers visit the city each year.

Tourism is the primary feeder for the Myrtle Beach economy, so the city does all it can to make sure there is something for everyone.

For the kids there’s enough in Myrtle Beach to keep them busy for months! The amusement parks are considered by many to be some of the best in the country, and they even have the 200 foot observation wheel, The Myrtle Beach Skywheel; it’s a glorified ferris wheel with glass gondolas that provide an unmatched view of the Atlantic Ocean. There are also waterparks with Lazy Rivers, slides and wave pools and tons of miniature golf courses.

The adults in the group won’t have a difficult time staying entertained, either. They call Myrtle Beach ‘The Golf Capital of the World’ for a reason. With over 100 golf courses, there is an option for all handicaps. Due to the high number of malls and outlets, the city is also the number one shopping destination in the Southeastern United States.

With beaches, amusement parks, golf courses, shopping and more it’s easy to see why millions consider Myrtle Beach the ideal vacation destination.
