Aroostook County Lake Front Cabin (#19646)

This was a great experience for our first trip to Maine. The house is comfortable and well-equipped with internet, full cable, use of a small boat and paddleboat, and nicely stocked kitchen, linens etc. Houlton is near the New Brunswick, Canada, border so we took a day-trip there, too. The owner was very friendly and the house view of the lake is spectacular from both downstairs/lawn and also the upper deck. It was just my husband and I so we enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Groups should be aware that the house has basically two big rooms, with sleeping areas upstairs curtained off (no doors) and the downstairs has two twin beds plus a sleep sofa - all in the same area. We had no privacy issues for us (as a couple) but the lack of interior doors (other than bathrooms, of course) was a bit of a surprise. PS: The master BR has a jacuzzi tub right in the room, which is a nice touch. The other bathroom had a conventional tub/shower. We hope to rent here again.
