Additional Comments:
If I could be assured every vacation rental was like this, I wouldn't ever stay in a hotel again. The loft is beautiful and nicely decorated. The photos show how it really is. The owners are nice too! I'm a photographer so I really liked the light in the unit. There are floor to ceiling windows (2 stories tall) with a view of Balboa Park. The freeway is there too, but the windows are well insulated and you can barely hear the cars even at night. Everything is there that you need including a washer/dryer. No TV but that wasn't an issue for me. If you like to read there is lots to choose from. Toni Morrison, Camus, Faulkner, David Sedaris and short stories. I read Freakonomics, a book I have been waiting three years to buy because I'm too cheap to buy the hardback. But read quickly, you can't take the books with you.
It is San Diego so I recommend a car although you are pretty close to the Gaslamp District and Hillcrest.
I'll definitely stay again.
