nice, new cottage on the water, fully stocked, July 8, 2008

We enjoyed our week at Nautic Bay. The cottage was new, and everything was in great shape. It had towels, linens, chairs.It sits down a small road with 3 other homes. The other rental property is right next door to this one, literally a stone's throw, so you don't have true isolation if that is what you are looking for. The beach is very small at high tide, but within a few hours it enlarges to 50-100 feet and more.
We saw bald eagles and seals almost daily.
It is very rocky so bring water shoes. THe kids splashed and waded but did not swim (too cold).
The view from the cottage is lovely. Lots of steps to get down to the beach, tho.
The best thing is the proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia. You can be downtoun in 15 minutes or less.
Don't miss Sand Beach, Otter Point, Thunder Hole and Cadillac Mtn. Eat at Geddy's for a fun meal.. Bring jeans and sweatshirts, and be ready for chilly nights! The well water at the cottage smelled bad, tho, so bring bottled to drink if you are pi
