Hi Karen, We loved it. Guess what room we got? 8301. We could have had the one
in villa 1 but I liked the privacy of the balcony better in 8301. We feel we had the best location in the place. Views from every angle (even from the toilet!). We loved it so much we extended the stay 2 days. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. One drawback was the main pool was being worked on when we got there and wasn't filled until Wednesday. We brought this up to Flores, the service rep, and I think this is why he was able to get us the great rate for the extra 2 days. The pool was nice once it was filled but the beach is what I love, so it was really no big deal for me. We went to Boutique on three different occasions once for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not one other customer was in the place each time. We made believe it was our mansion and we had servants. We'd order our food, go play a game of pool. When the food was delivered we'd head back to the dining area and eat. Then we'd get an after dinner drink and go down to the living room area and kickback on the comfortable couches there. It was like we were on Lifestyles of the rich and famous. We loved it. I prefer the 5* to stay at but the Boutique is a nice getaway, epecially if your not all inclusive. Glad we didn't go all inclusive, got us out and about more. Let you in on a secret (if you don't already know), at the member's bar the workers were eating tacos, I asked about them and found out a lady named Flora (I called her mom by the end of the trip) made them homemade for the workers at 6 pesos apiece. I'd go down there and get 4 or 5. Give her a couple buck tip and she was in heaven. She would ask me what kind I wanted the next day and make them special for us. She would save a couple for me each day. She even bought me a gift when I left. Genuinely nice people there. I told Senior Flores I was going to send him an e mail praising the place
and the people there. One bummer was at first to get the vip discount card they
told us we had to go on the time share presentation. We declined because the 15% is not that big a deal and as long as they were serving us from the mmbers bar without it, it was no big deal. We ended up getting it a couple days later
because you needed it to get towels for the beach, so we went back and they got us a card. Senior Flores was not there yet at the time. I liked Isla Mujeres. The place is surrounded by water. The Grand was perfect for us, not too big not too small. The blue water I dream about, waves crashing. We had a great time, I could go on for an hour but I got to get back to reality and try and rmember what the heck I do for a living again. Thanks for all your help and I have a feeling we will be doing this again hopefully, Take care.
