Quiet Retreat at Tall Oaks, November 1, 2008

My wife and I stayed at Tall Oaks along with my sister and brother-in-law during the first week of Oct. 2008. Mary Anne met us at the house and was very nice, explaining sites and places to see in the area. We liked the literature about various sites to see which had been both assembled by Mary Anne and left by other house guests for us to see. The house was clean, spacious, and a wonderful place to call "home" during our vacation in Gettysburg. STAYING HERE BEATS STAYING IN MOTEL/HOTEL BY FAR. There are so many places within 90 minutes to see that this house makes a great home base (Washington DC -70 minutes, Baltimore-60 min., Hershey-45 min., York-30 min.). The house is roomy, (love the large kitchen) everyone had privacy (separate bathrooms). The washer and dryer came in handy, as it allowed us to pack lighter. Everything was clean, and well maintained. I would recommend staying here to everyone who wants to go to this area. We will go back.
