Additional Comments:
This house is situated on a bluff of 7 acres overlooking Ryder Cove. It is truly a beautiful setting. Yet, just a short trail takes you to 450' of beach and 2 Kayaks to explore Ryder Cove. It is well protected with calm waters and a number of yachts at anchor. One must travel by ferry from Lincolnville to Islesboro island. This adds an element of excitement and also a feeling of truly escaping the hectic pace of the mainland. The island is home to only 600 people 10 months of the year while the population expands to 2,000 during the 2 months of summer. There are beautiful beaches, unspoiled scenic trails and islands, beautiful homes (mansions called "cottages") and some well known shipyards. Fresh lobster is available. A charter sail boat excursion was a big treat. Plan to experience life as it once existed 2 generations ago. Everybody waves to you while passing in their car and there exists a close connection between the native islanders and their environment
