Spacious Shore House Overlooking Penobscot Bay (#23291)

Sometimes the best vacations are the ones done impulsively! Determined to break free from the stresses of our hectic lives, we found this gem of a place on the internet ... and to our surprise, found so much more than what we could see in pictures on the net. Aside from the rustic qualities of the house and its lovely deck, one has fantastic Westerly views with magnificent sunsets. The walk down to the beach if a hoot with its staircase and the otters, porpoises, bald eagles, fox, and (of course...) deer make for an amazing experience. Each of us took turns kayaking on the mostly tranquil waters to offshore islands. The property is peaceful and private. In the evening, one sees a few billion starts and some shooting across the night's sky. Deer Isle is a wonderful escape into a more innocent time. Almost like stepping back into the 1910s...
