Queens NYC Families/children,couples welcomed (#33386)

Last time in New York we stayed in a Manhattan hotel and did all the main Manhattan sights. This time we wanted to taste the other side of New York -- Queens, Brooklyn and further afield. Winston's first floor apartment -- clean and well-equipped -- was ideal for two adults and a teenager. TVs in both bedrooms plus a kitchen and a "compact" living/dining room. It is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood with never a hint of trouble or unpleasantness when we came back late at night. Two subway stations are within 10 minutes walk (about 30 minutes to central Manhattan)-- a big supermarket and a brilliant buffet restaurant are 3 minutes away. Weekly tickets for subway and buses are great value at 21 dollars. Winston was a great host, unobtrusive but always on hand. I have to admit that we were warned before going that some advertised apartment deals around New York are a scam so we were a little wary. But this is the real deal for those who want to stay somewhere out of the ordinary.
