Great Choice | The basics: -- Beautiful, spacious home; lots of stone; very comfortable for 8. -- Luxury Master Bedroom. -- Close to Powder Mountain (10-15 minutes). -- Clean, comfortable, nicely furnished. -- Large, well-designed kitchen. Minor cons: -- No speaker system (for TV or CD/iPod/MP3 connection). -- Cable movie options minimal -- bring your own DVDs. -- Bring your own boot-dryers. We planned on spending equal time at Snow Basin and Powder Mountain, but the base at SB was very icy and poorly groomed, so we spent all but one day at PM. If you like off-the-groomed-path skiing, PM is terrific -- lots of glades and areas accessible only by cat or helicopter. If you like groomed skiing, PM's choices are great but limited: the main lift serves about 4 blue branches that are in the mid-hi intermediate range. A second, slow lift (Timberline) serves basically 2 blue branches, low-mid intermediate. No crowds even on wkend, but since most trails lead to 1 hi spd lift, |
