Perfect Laurel Highlands Getaway | We rented the Bear Paw Cabin for a quick summer getaway with my sister, her husband and their toddler. We picked the Laurel Highlands because it is midway between our house in New Jersey and theirs in Ohio. The cabin is everything it says on the website, very clean, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Ceiling fans everywhere so no air conditioning is really needed; the mountains cool off very quickly at night. The cabin is also very child-friendly with no valuable antiques or ornaments at kid height. The play area was a hit, too. We had fun building a campfire in the fire pit and grilling on the front porch. The cabin is quite close to a number of attractions, including Laurel Caverns and Ohiopyle, so there are lots of things to do. My husband and I agree that we actually had more fun in the Laurel Highlands than the Catskills. |
