Great Place, Far From Everywhere Else | We had a great time riding, shooting, and fishing at Durhamtown. There are dozens of trails, ranging from fire roads to very challenging single-track, to motocross tracks, as well as a flat track and a dirt drag strip, complete with lights. The negatives: The skeet range is pretty rough for the price. The shooting range isn't much, either, but it's free. Also, there's NOTHING but Durhamtown for miles around, so don't go thinking you'll take a day off for shopping. This is no ski lodge. Good food can be had in Washington, but that's 20 miles away. The trails, tracks, and rental bikes are extremely well maintained. The catfish pond is well-stocked. The cabins and RV's are a little, um, rustic but very clean. In four days I didn't see a single bug, mouse, spider, etc. We went during the week, and the crowd was very light. A wonderful vacation. We hope to return next year |
