Perfect Mountain Retreat | My husband and I stayed here by ourselves for a getaway after his return from military deployment. Our only (semi-)regret is that we didn't bring some family to enjoy the house with us! The pics don't do the views there justice... in a word, breathtaking. It is the perfect combination of seclusion with proximity to great mountain activities. We were perfectly happy to stay in a couple of days, watching the snow fall, relaxing by the fireplace, "chilling" in the hot tub outside, and playing board games. The house has everything you'll need for your stay. When the weather cleared, we enjoyed hiking to the reservoir and nearby wooded trails. The pizza at the South Park Saloon in Alma was some of the best we've ever had. The locals are very friendly, and we liked getting away from the overly-touristy atmosphere of the resort towns. We'd love to come back and experience all the summer mountain activities the area has to offer. This is at the top of our list for Colorado destinations. |
