Rustic Luxury | We enjoyed a great weekend in the Finger Lakes for a family wedding. AAA helped us locate Cobtree and it is a great find. The log cabin that we stayed in was able to accommodate myself and my husband with our Black Lab, and our daughter and son-in-law and theirs. The web site is a great resource, and surprisingly the actual facility is even better than pictured. The cabin was very clean and fully appointed with kitchen supplies. The bedrooms and living/dining areas are very comfortable, with a great front porch and gas grill, and a wonderful view of Lake Seneca. Our pets had a wonderful property to run and play ball, so that when they entered the cabin, they were content to simply lie still. The cabin is only about 5 miles from downtown Geneva, NY and 3 miles from our wedding reception at the nearby Belhurst Castle. Wineries abound and country roads for long walks. We all wished that we had brought our bikes. The only shortcoming that is that both my daughter and myself felt that the lighting in the bedrooms/bathrooms is not great for doing make up. Also my husband and myself feel that the lighting in the living room is rather dim for comfortable reading. (however, know that we are in our 60s) Bathrooms are small and there is a small amount of liquid soap and no bar soap. The instructions for bringing additional specific personal items are accurate, (bath and dish towels). Neighbors are nearby, but not overly close, and were very nice folks. We had a great time. |
