seclusion and safety | After years of Ocean City crowds (even in Ocean Pines) we've discovered that Captain's Cove is the ideal launching point for an Eastern Shore vacay. This place just feels like home, in a real neighborhood, where no matter which way you walk, you hit open water, without the smell of traffic and creosote -- or the sounds of screaming throngs. The Cove is quiet, with gorgeous, private waterfront areas where you'll see only dog-walkers and sailboat-launchers. There are acres of woodlands and countless sunset and sunrise views with zero "cigar" boats or rowdies. This particular house is perfect for families or intimate groups -- sleeps eight -- with a kitchen made for Shore life. (Has mallets, stemware, and eating spaces indoors and out.) There are even crab pots ("traps") that you can tie off and toss into the water for fresh catch at your fingertips. Barely an hour from OC, just a few minutes from Chincoteague, with a dozen more attractions in between, we've found our home away from home. |
