Tue Jul 22 A Perfect Stay at a Perfect Place We stayed at Celeste Vida for a week, and our hosts helped make that a perfect stay. Want to go fishing? Ken will visit his friend, a local fisherman, and you can do hand over hand line fishing. Great day! Great dinner eating fresh caught boneless fillets! Want to see the flamingoes and the mangroves? Karen will make a call to a friend, and the tour boat will pull up to the beach in front of Celeste Vida--curbside service Yucatan style. Want to cook? Wanda will join you for a trip to the local butcher where you can get fresh pork and chicken. Whatever your need, the owners of the property can help--including doing a load of laundry and hanging it. Celestun still belongs to the locals; it looks and feels like Mexico. I loved walking about the town, visiting the markets and shops where people welcomed me and were patient with my halting Spanish. I loved walking the beach area in front of Celeste Vida, watching the sun sink into the sea. Viva Celestun and Celeste Vida!
