Sat Aug 22 The Eau Gallie House My family and I spent 10 days at the Eau Gallie house in New Braunfels. We have a great time - there were 13 of us in all (4 couples/families). The house was large with enough space for all. Especially nice was the two living room areas! A good size kitchen downstairs and a small kitchenette upstairs. Tall ceilings in the downstairs and quaint loft type bungalow rooms upstairs. And a very nice front porch with a swing as well as a sun room and open porch on the back of the property. the neighborhood was quite with the exception of my grandchildren who enjoyed the back yard. Especially nice was the ability to bring our pets and to kennel them on site in our own kennels. The house came well furnished and the inn keeper was very friendly. A binder was left for us with listings of nearby attractions and maps - they were very helpful. There are several restaurants, bars and a bakery all within easy walking distance. Modern Cuisine, Germain, Mexican, Tex-Mex and several others. Overall we had a tremendously great time. No regrets! If you have a LARGE group of people this IS the place for you. Schlitterbahn water park and Tubing on the Comal River are nearby. A great place to use as a home base while exploring all the nearby towns and treasures of the Texas Hill country!
