A great place to stay in Gettysburg! | The Third Summer was a wonderful base for us to explore both the city of Gburg and the battlefield. The house is just two blocks from the lovely Lutheran Theol. Seminary and 6 blocks to the heart of downtown. We walked everywhere except the battlefield. The Sleep Comfort beds were comfortable and the decor lovely. We appreciated the Civil War books and videos and decor. The kitchen and bath are small but totally updated and pretty. The washer and dryer were great to have. We lived on the wide and beautiful front porch! Nice rocking chairs. Lots of space at the dining room table and in the living room. The owner is so nice and accommodating and phoned to be sure all was going well. I highly recommend the Third Summer and plan to return the next time I'm in Gburg. The price was very fair. There were 6 in our party - we saved 500 dollars by staying at the Third Summer rather than a downtown hotel. |
