Description of the Acadia vacation cottage rental

Unwind in cozy and serene surroundings while enjoying numerous creature comforts. A newly renovated and beautifully decorated cape loaded with amenities. Tucked away on a tranquil wooded lot, yet a short distance to any desired location both on and off Mt Desert Island. Choose from an abundance of exciting, exhilarating, and entertaining activities during the day. Then later, relax and rejuvenate in peace and quiet. Watch a movie on a 50 inch plasma TV, read a book, play a game, surf the net, or sit on the private deck and chat with a cold drink in hand.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms, one first floor bedroom with a king size bed, the master bedroom on the second floor with a king, and the second floor guest room with a queen. There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor. All bedrooms are equipped with LCD televisions and DVD players. The cottage comfortably accommodates 6 occupants, though additional bedding can be provided for 2 more(extra fee may apply).

The living room is set up with a large plasma TV, DVD players, a huge DVD collection, books, board games, video games, and seating for up to 8. Wireless internet access is offered as well.

The new;y renovated kitchen provides everything you will need during your visit. The dining area is conveniently situated between the kitchen and the private deck with its large gas grill. If you would like to dine al fresco, the gazebo has a picnic table and all sides can be enclosed(zippered)with a screen that will keep out uninvited "guests."

No smoking is permitted anywhere on the property and no pets, please.

Area Information

The cottage is located in Trenton, the "gateway" to Mount Desert Island. It is near Acadia National Park and the scenic communities of Mount Desert Island including Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor,and Northeast Harbor. Acadia National Park begins just 3 miles from the cottage. The furthest point in the Park is Schoodic Peninsula, about 45 minutes drive a little further Down East. Ellsworth, Stonington, and other Down East destinations are close by as well.

Just 2.5 miles to the Chamber of Commerce's Bar Harbor Area Information & Acadia Welcome Center, lobster pounds, gas stations, grocery store, restaurants, Bar Harbor Airport, etc.

The Bar Harbor Airport is 5 minutes from the cottage. The Bangor International Airport is at 39 miles. The ferry to Nova Scotia (The Cat)is approximately a 15 minute drive, as is the National Park's visitors center. Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Southwest Harbor are all about 20 minutes away.

Not to be overlooked are guided tours with the National Park rangers. Please check in advance for the times and locations of their scheduled activities.
Thompson Island, 3 miles from the cottage, offers shoreline access and a picnic area.
Lobster pounds may be found just 2.5 miles away. Lobsters may be purchased to carry away live or be cooked on the spot.
Many activities, such as whale watching, may be prearranged through the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce's visitors center, just 5 minutes from the cottage.
