I love the older classic Maine cottages. This cottage has all the modern amenities while still maintaining the ambiance of the classic Maine camp. We had a major heat wave this week but the cottage stayed fairly cool with a nice breeze due to being tucked up on a hill under the pines. My nephew from California with his wife and 3 teenagers stayed the week. The girls had never swam in a lake before! - though by the end of the week they were tubing behind our boat. Deeper water dock allows you to bring your boat right up to the dock and tie up. Property is large, lots of grassy area for little ones to run around. The dirt road is quiet with little traffic. The girls loved the gorgeous sunsets with an expansive view from the front deck overlooking the lake. They also enjoyed the fireworks heard 'round the lake. (We thought they were gunshots! they said - I assured them they would not hear gunshots here.) Fireflies were abundant too - another hit with the girls. They saw loons for the first time, and heard their daily cries at night across the lake. The owners of this cottage are wonderful people who aim to please and can be easily reached if needed. The cottage is a wonderful deal for the price; this California family had a wonderful time - the girls hated leaving Maine and can't wait to return!

Neat and clean, more a house than a camp. Nice modern kitchen, with plenty of outdoor space. Across a camp road, down a series of steps, a lot of steps, to a roomy dock and clean lake water, incredible sunset views. Nice deck, grill and chairs available. Friendly owners made the rental easy. Would stay there again. We rented this as a place for our extended family to stay when the sleep space was filled at our camp on the same lake.

Very efficient sweet cabin. Comfortable & has all needs provided in kitchen. We brought our food, bedding & towels and were very comfortable. Walk down to waterfront was direct & lake was so refreshing on hot days. Our grandboys had a wonderful time jumping in and swimming! We were very fortunate that the horses which arrived for a few days stay right next to the camp, did not bother my daughter's allergies as the wind was blowing the "right" way. That could have been a problem, but was not. Pet & some mildew smell in the cabin were taken care of by carpet baking soda deodorizer. Those smells can trigger allergic reactions as well, but none bothered her. Cabin stayed nice and cool on hot days under the shade of the pines and good insulation in roof. Owners checked in with us and showed us how to work the heater, which really was not needed that week. Nice to chat with them. Neighbors were quiet and lake activity was not noisy which just added to the serenity of the week. Loons were lovely to hear at night. We look forward to another stay at Wilson Lake next year!

My family really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was great and had everything that we needed for a great vacation. The cabin was very nice and clean, the deck was great for grilling and relaxing and the lake was beautiful. The owners are very nice and friendly. There is a beautiful overlook of the lake from the deck. We look forward to vacationing there again.

The owner was very nice and the house is really cozy and cute. We were very close to the lake (great size) and had our own dock. The setting was great also- up a bit on a hill with woods on 3 sides. The only negative was that the house appeared to not have been cleaned in quite a while. There were cobwebs everywhere and the toilet/bathroom were pretty dirty. If you go in knowing that the house will need to be cleaned (I realize that some of it is to be expected at a camp house) then everything else will be wonderful. Except for the dust, we had a perfect week!

This is not the property we stayed in, although it is the property we planned on renting. When we arrived this property was occupied. We stayed at a more expensive property across the street. We appreciated the other property and was able to pay the difference in price, but I wonder what would have happened if we were not prepared to pay more.
