Vacation Rental Description

For a taste of the good life, take time out at Domaine de France, a restored manor house with a converted barn and 11 by 5 metre swimming pool, set in 5 ha on the outskirts of Penne d’Agenais. We’ve spent two years restoring and developing the property; now come and enjoy our warm hospitality and accommodation, either in Chambre d’Hotes (Bed & Breakfast) or in one of our 3 self catering 'Gites' (cottages).
“A perfect stop”, “The most beautiful and peaceful place we’ve ever stayed at in France” – just two quotes from 2005 visitors.

Area Description

Penne d’Agenais is a beautiful medieval bastide village, with mixed limestone and brick buildings, narrow streets and a choice from half a dozen places to sample the gastronomic delights of Lot et Garonne, especially duck and foie gras. Penne lies on the Pilgrim route to Compostella in N. Spain, and was the site of Anglo-French battles at the time of the Crusades. Richard the Lionheart built a castle at Penne. It is perfectly located to explore the Lot Valley, with its vineyards, orchards and chateaux.
Activities :Swimming pool and Games Room at the property: table tennis, billiards, table football, board games etc.
Close to water based activities – boating, canoeing, water skiing etc on the River Lot ; plenty of equestrian centres in nearby region; easy access to cycle routes along the Lot and its tributaries; many marked walking routes go through Penne; special sites nearby include – Parc en Ciel, Parc Walibi, Grottes de Fontirou, Chateau Bonaguil.

Reviews for this vacation b&b rental in Agen, Aquitaine, France

By Harry Wilson (Guernsey)
We had THE most wonderful stay.John & Jan were the perferct hosts, helpful & friendly but not overpowering. Their advise was good, their house & food superb & the area in which they live was beautiful. Everyone made us feel at home yet abroad. We ate lots & tested many different wines, fruits and foie gras. This is a lovely spot for romantic couples (the wedding we attended was stunning), families or groups of freinds. We can't wait to go back.
