Area Info
Labat is situated in a beautiful valley in the French countryside. The grounds extend for 5 acres and include an orchard and a wood. Labat was once a village and there are still many foundations of farm cottages. The village bread oven still stands on the hillside and is in the process of being renovated.

Labat is 2km from the nearest village, Pont du Casse which has shops, a restaurant and a horse riding stables. it is a further 5km to Agen, the Lot et Garonne's pricipal town and a fantastic place to visit with its many restaurants, historic medieval quarter, museums, shops and markets. Travelling further afield, the Lot et Garonne is a region of rolling hills and wild woodlands, primarily an agricultural region, its specialities are fruit, in particular the famous Agen prunes, wine, Duras and Buzet perhaps being the most famous apellations, Armagnac, fois gras and many other gastronomical delights. There are lots of activites on offer, particularly during the summer months and there is generally something to suit all tastes, from Parc Walibi, the white knuckle them park near Agen, to the various historic chateaux open to the public.
