Description of the Albufeira vacation apartment rental

Brand new (2007) 1 bedroom bungalow style apartment, sleeps 4. Situated in a peaceful residential area within a small private condominium of just 8 apartments, with garden and pool area (main pool approx. 15 meters x 7.25 meters, plus children's pool) with poolside shower/toilets/changing facilities. Both the garden and pool area are fenced and gated.
There is also a communal BBQ area.

Twin bedroom and lounge both have patio doors onto private terrace and garden with dining table, chairs and sun loungers. The lounge has full size bed settee with sprung mattress, The apartment has a TV with Sky free to air, BBC, ITV etc (card required for other channels), DVD/video, CD player.

Fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a washing machine.

The apartment is extremely well equipped throughout, as a second home, not just as a holiday apartment.

Area Description

The local area is ideal for families, couples and golfers. The stunning sandy beaches of Castelo and Evaristo beaches are within a 10 minute walk, and the long sandy Gale beach is 1.5 km away. There are many beautiful coves within walking distance. There are a variety of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The nearest supermarket is 0.8km also there is a small shop for basics 3 minutes walk away. The larger supermarkets stock well known brands and food is reasonably priced as are the restaurants. The local bus stop is close by should you wish to visit Albufeira, although taxis are cheap. Albufeira (3.5 km) has both a new part and an old town, which is very quaint, with narrow cobbled streets leading down to the beaches. There is also a newly developed marina. Albufeira has many shops, bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes.

The nearest golf course of Salgados is 2.5km away, and there are approximately 15 within a 30 minute drive.

Further west from Albufeira is Carvoeiro, a small fishing village with several courses, and further west again are Portimao and Lagos, both towns having a good variety of beaches, shops etc and more golf courses (these would be approx 45 minutes drive). All along the coast are more golf courses until you reach Cape St Vincent, a windswept headland at the most westerly point of Europe overlooking the Atlantic. This area is quite wild and rugged.

To the east of Faro towards the border with Spain the main towns are Tavira and Monte Gordo. Again there are several golf courses. The Spanish border can be reached from the apartment in approx. 1hour 10 minutes, and Seville in Spain (just over 2 hours drive) is a beautiful city.

Lisbon the capital of Portugal is approx. 2.5 hours away.

As well as golf all other sports are catered for in the Algarve.

Within easy walking distance of beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Car hire available locally.
