Description of the Albuquerque vacation home rental

The Old Town house is an authentic adobe built c. 1902. A recent complete systems update adds modern comfort to the rustic Southwestern charm of this old territorial style home. Situated across the street from Tiguex Park, and about a block and a half from the historic Old Town Plaza, the location is unmatched. With three bedrooms and two baths, there are accommodations for six (two queen beds and one full bed). The en suite master bath features a claw foot tub, the second bedroom has a gas kiva fireplace, and soft lighting is achieved in all three bedrooms with chandeliers.
The main living space is open, with free communication between the kitchen and living area. An adjoining sitting room (with its own kiva fireplace) allows views of the park through a French door and side lights.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless appliances and an old farm table serving as a kitchen island.
A spacious back yard is a nice spot for a few minutes of reading on a sunny afternoon, or grilling out on one of the patios in the evening.
With original wood floors, beamed ceilings, and foot think walls, this house evokes the romance of the Old West, and is a fantastic base for your Albuquerque adventures.

Area Description

The house fronts Old Town Rd., a quiet street bordering Tiguex Park. The park is a place of towering cottonwoods, grassy fields, and a first rate playground. This is a walking neighborhood, with people out with strollers and dogs into the evening hours. Immediately across the park are several museums (Art and History, Science and Natural History, and Explora - the children's science museum). Excellent restaurants and interesting shopping are within leisurely walking distance. The Albuquerque Biological Park, including the zoo, aquarium and botanical gardens, is a short drive away.

Logistics are easy, with a short ride from the airport, a mile and a half to the train station and Convention Center, and about 1 hour to Santa Fe.

Albuquerque was recently ranked one of the five best cities in the U.S. to live in. The culture in the area is amazing and there is always something of interest going on. Come and enjoy!

 Great home, May 27, 2008
By Paula Monahan (roswell, ga)
This was a very charming, cozy home. The perfect southwestern experience. The backyard was ideal. It was quiet and private and large. Bring your own wireless because there was no computer access. Otherwise it was perfect and I would highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a beautiful house to stay it in an excellent location this is it! Our ladies-only family reunion was even more special because of our perfect stay at this house. We were able to walk everywhere in Old Town, yet it was cozy and quiet. Perfect combination, decorated lovely, just wonderful!

Old Town Charm, March 13, 2008
By Karl Born (Newmarket, ON Canada)
A beautiful Old Town adobe house with all the conveniences nearby. Close to downtown and the highways as well as shopping. I would love to come back again to explore more of Albuquerque and the area in warmer weather, of course. All in all, a beautifully furnished in the Old Town style and maintained property!

Great house; great location, March 12, 2008
By Cyd Baron (Houston and Amarillo, Texas AND Grass Valley, California, USA)
We had a fabulous time on our ladies-only family reunion. The house is perfect! It is charming and beautiful, feels very historic, with all the modern conveniences. Decorated beautifully. The location could not have been better. We walked to shopping and museums, and it was close to main thoroughfares for longer trips. We would DEFINITELY return to Albuquerque and would want to stay in this house again.
