Rio Grande Adobe - Star Gazing, Cycling and Wine (#33688)

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description of the Albuquerque vacation home rental

This authentic renovated adobe home is located in the North Valley. Constructed in 1912, this house resonates with local character and echos of life as it once was in the valley. We still have an alfalfa field to view from the property. Cozy and inviting with a lovely sun porch, thick walls and original wood floors, you will feel the true ambiance of New Mexico. Our home is beautifully decorated with Mission furniture, vibrant rugs, lots of authentic furniture, and modern conveniences. You can choose the Chaco Room (1 queen) or the Latia Room (1 double) and ther is an optional foldout bed, if you have the need. Take your coffee or tea in our bright morning room on the front of the house or sit quietly in the inviting family room to plan your day.

The beautiful skies of Albuquerque are here for your taking day or night. You will be located in the area of some of the best bicycle riding in the area. We are a cycle friendly inn and the house is equipped with bike information and rides you can take right from your front door. We can even provide you with a bike and helmet.

With approximately 1,700 sf to relax in, please enjoy this very clean and natural setting. If you need more room, we have the guest house with an additional 1,200 sf. You will love the view of the stars from the guest house loft viewing windows. What more could you ask for in a vacation setting.

We are located down the street from the Anderson Valley Vineyard and you will want to visit their tasting room.

Sorry no pets and our home is non-smoking.

Area Description

The North Valley is a lush area, by desert standards, that contains the Rio Grande River basin. Because of the water system that has been used for generations to irrigate you will be located in on of Albuquerque's most interesting areas. Close to Old Town, you can drive down in minutes or take your bike on the many designated trails. We are near all of the Old Town museums, as well as the Biopark. If you like local food you can try a different restaurant every night or make a simple meal with ingredients from our local coop market, La Montanitas. Visit the Flying Star, Jondies, Las Mananitas and many more that are listed in our notebook for visitors.

You will receive a complimentary box of Bizcochitos, freshly baked from our bakery in Albuquerque.

Comfort and Charm, December 29, 2009
By Carole Fegal (Beaverton, OR)
We LOVED this house! Our hosts made us feel so welcome. Everything was so comfortable and charming...down to the yummy coffee provided. We loved the location as well. It was the perfect place to celebrate Christmas in Albuquerque! Just a little trouble with the electricity, but the owner was gracious and had prepared us for the possibility. We would certainly return here and recommend this home to others.

 A super place, October 8, 2009
By Ardis Freeman (Fort Worth Texas)
We loved this place! Clean, simple and plenty of good karma. It was the perfect location for the Balloonfest and to tour Old Town. Plenty of good eats-the cop-op and Flying Star. The winery was a bonus. My daughter loved looking at the balloons from the upper level window. We will return again.

 Great Value, October 26, 2008
By Sharon (Petaluma, CA USA)
This back-yard property is conveniently located near Old Town, Albuq. The home was clean and very comfortable for the 4 of us. Well appointed but not fancy. Electric pot-bellied stove kept the house comfortable on cool mornings. Landlady was very eager to assure our comfort and provided activity info during our stay. We would definitely return to this location or rent the front house if available. Excellent value.

lots of space, near everything!, May 7, 2008
By C. Demment Gonzalez (Orford, NH)
We had a wonderful stay at this larger-than-it-appears house. Great outdoor areas for meals, close to a Flying Star cafe, Los Poblanos Inn & Cultural Center and an easy drive to Old Town. Owners were super helpful and very accommodating to our group! Highly recommend to family, groups, or friends looking for better than motel stay. Really a delight!
