Pocomoonshine Lakefront Getaway

This four season home nestled into the hillside provides camp ambience with modern amenities. Along a dead end lane of secluded camps on a wooded lot, the focus of the house is the lake where spectacular sunsets and loon songs can be enjoyed from the shore or screen room. This lake is largely undeveloped and offers fine paddling, fishing and swimming. A small dock and fire ring provide lakefront relaxation. A canoe is available for your enjoyment.

The home is fully furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and modern pieces. A fully equipped kitchen will please vacation gourmets! The house has three bedrooms and two baths, one with a tub and the other with a shower. One queen bed, one double bed and one futon sleeper hold six. An inflatable twin mattress is also available if needed. Linens are provided, but you may want to bring along bath sheets, favorite pillows and beach towels. Each room has a dresser, mirror and spacious closets. Two bedrooms are on the lower level and one is on the upper level (doubles as a sitting room).

Appliances include washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and refrigerator. A landline connection is available for dial up internet.

A short drive reaches Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge with miles of hiking and biking trails, the Alexander Art Trail, Grand Lake Stream fishing, New Brunswick, Canada, shopping, dining and movies in Calais, along the St. Croix river.

An hour's drive finds Eastport's restaurants and galleries, Lubec, Reversing Falls, Quoddy Head State Park, Campobello Island,the Passamaquoddy reservation and St. Andrew's by the Sea in New Brunswick.

A day trip can reach Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Bangor, Ellsworth and Baxter State Park. Numerous artisans and small businesses are nestled throughout Washington County. The house has a collection of brochures, maps and books on these and other area offerings.
