From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with our little cabins and new it was the start of a relaxing vacation. Cottage was cozy, sufficient, but not intimating. There were 3 problems that were moot. 1. we could not get any TV stations, 2. No key or instructions were left for us. 3. We were unable to contact owner. The lake was the perfect size. Not a lot of power boats, and we enjoyed the use of the kayaks and our own private dock. Also, their was ample firewood for the fire pit and having a full tank of gas for grilling was great. The close proxmity to Ogunquit Beach, Wells Beach, Kennebunkport and Portland were perfect for day trips. All were within a half hour drive. Our experience from start to finish was more than expected and we are planning to go back

We really loved the outside area around the cabin ... beautiful lake, kayaking, swimming and close to everything. Cabin was O.K. but not cleaned as promised when we arrived so we spent first hours of our vacation cleaning before we could even come in! :( There was a beautiful view of the lake from the cabin but no screen door? The blinds were also almost impossible to open and close so that ruined the view also! There was no place to put clothes ... a few shelves in one bedroom but none in the other. No dresser? Too many chairs ... 3 large lazy boy rocking chairs in small cabin and in and around property my son counted 39 chairs altogether not including 2 dirty couches! Not very practical!! Mouse poop under couch cushions & carpenter ants in cabin! Yuck!! My husband was able to only get DVD player working ... otherwise no TV at all. The neighbour hood was very quiet and relaxing and we loved sitting by the water and reading or swimming or kayaking. Lots of interesting wildlife and we loved being close to the beaches and did a few day trips by the ocean. There was no information on anything in cabin and no local contact and no key?? All in all we really enjoyed our vacation despite the messy cottage .... it could really be a nice comfortable place with just a little rearranging and CLEANING and a few practical pieces of furniture and a lot less chairs! The only compensation we were offered by owner is maybe a rebate if we come back?! Not very tempting! Felt like it was one step up from camping!

Great place for no more than 6... 6 is almost crowded...the water was very clean to swim...and mosquitos wasnt really an issue. The inside of cabin was clean..appliances updated..the a/c is due but was sufficient fot the temps 80-90's... Could use possibly new mattress in both rooms but got a descent sleep....for the price cant go wrong...would we rent again..absolutely and would recommemd to all our friends

The lake was beautiful, clean and great for swiming and boating. The cabin beach was relaxing and it was fun to sit along the water on the beach. The Alfred Maine location is perfect with the lake and easy access to the ocean. The cabin was adequate, but frankly and honestly it needs a thorough cleaning. The owner, or whoever, filled most of the bedroom with stored furniture, which impeded the use of that bedroom. There were persoanl affects and belongings in all the rooms, so there was very little space to put our things. We knew the place was small, so that was acceptable, but the amount of persoanl belongings and furniture was beyond acceptance. The mattresses were soft and need to be replaced. The cabin would be immensely improved with a thorough cleaning, which was not done prior to renting.
