Beautiful Home!

Apologies for the very late review! We stayed for a week over winter and it was just gorgeous. Lots of snow and nature. Fantastic for an 'away from it all' vacation. It is a large home but still so cozy. Wonderful for a romantic holiday away or a family vacation. Note: If you aren't used to such a high elevation make sure you drink lots of water! Tom and Saphira

Relaxing Beautiful Home

This home is great! Our group had an amazing time hanging out, playing ping pong, and enjoying the amazing views. There are 4 private rooms and there was enough space for all 8 people. We are excited to go back and see the views in the summer as well!

Beautiful Home in Beautiful Location
Guest: Barb (Fort Collins, CO)
Date of Stay: 02/03/11 Review Submitted: 02/12/11

Six of us stayed in early February, and the place was perfect, with nice cross country ski trails nearby and a beautiful place to come back to in the evenings. Brian was great to work with, too. Montgomery Reservoir is closed to fishing all winter, if anyone else is interested in that.

Fantastic Mountain Getaway
Guest: Bonnie (Washington, DC)
Date of Stay: 03/04/11 Review Submitted: 03/16/11

We enjoyed a wonderful four nights in Brian and Mary's beautiful cabin. Their home is incredibly gorgeous, only to be matched by the awesome mountain views. In March, we had plenty of snow and enjoyed several days of downhill and backcountry/cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. It was great to come home from a long day of exploring and make homemade dinners in the kitchen and relax with friends. The beds are super comfortable, the rosemary in the sunroom smells amazing, and clearly a lot of work went into making this home cozy and delightful. The location is out-of-the-way but convenient. Just 10 minutes to Breckenridge and relatively close to other ski resorts, itâs a great alternative to staying in-town. We also drove the 45 minutes to Vail and enjoyed a ski day there as well. We would love to stay again - thanks for sharing your home!

Great cabin!! Perfect location: close to Breckenridge, but so secluded that we never saw (or heard) any neighbors. The decor was wonderful, very detailed, yet home-y. Great view from both the porch and sunroom. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a mountain getaway.

We stayed at Brian and Mary's log cabin for a week. We absolutely loved it. Living Room- comfortable sofas, TV, wonderful music system (IPOD can be hooked up) and breathtaking views. Kitchen- everything, i mean everything is available. it is a VERY WELL stocked kitchen. Just carry your food. Bedrooms - VERY comfortable beds, wonderful views. Bathrooms (3 full) - everyone of them well stocked as well and hot water is so readily available. Could not have asked for more. Game Room - kids were glued to it. Washer Dryer - everything is available. no need to carry anything. even piles of towels are available in the laundry area, apart from what is there is the bathrooms. Deck- something to die for. Every morning we sat out sipping coffee and enjoying the glorious mountain views. BBQ grill, chairs, tables everyhting available on the deck to enjoy anytime of the day. Sun Room - what a wonderful place to enjoy the stars and watch wild life from this room. Binoculars are also there to bring the distant mountains near you. The sun room has has cherry tomatoes which we enjoyed, has a herb garden which can be used to grill. Location - close to Alma (10 mins) close to Fairplay (15 mins), close to Breckenridge (20 mins)...simply fantastic. Brian and May, we thoroughly enjoyed your home, and we are sure that we will go back there in the near future WITHOUT ANY HESITATION. We have been to quite a few log cabins, but this one by far, hands down beat out the rest. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us and thanks for being so PATIENT and HELPFUL. Glad that we could meet you.

Summer hiking and relaxing
Guest: Tracy and Kim (Brandon, MS)
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 07/29/11

Brian and Maryâs house and its location are both beautiful. It is obvious that the house was built and is maintained with love. It was extremely clean and everything in it from the showers to the coffee maker worked as it should. Brian and Mary were easy to work with, and Brian gave us helpful advice on hiking and told us about a beautiful drive along Boreas Pass. He even left us a wonderful map after he found out we wanted to do a lot of hiking while there. We spent much of our cabin time enjoying the cool temperatures on the deck while watching the sunset. We saw several foxes moving through the meadow below the house. There are no city lights nearby to compete with the stars. We could easily see the Milky Way. There is a hammock and a fire pit by the brook for even more summer relaxing. We would absolutely stay again.

Fantastic home - great location would rent here again

This was the perfect home and perfect location for our vacation. The views from the home are gorgeous and we were amazed at how quiet it is. My wife enjoyed drinking her coffee on the spacious deck and reading a book in the morning. When it rained she enjoyed reading her book in the sunroom that has awesome views of the woods and mountains. I enjoyed looking through the binoculars watching people climb Mt. Lincoln. We even got to watch deer eat in the clearing which was amazing. The home has plenty amenities and we started a new family tradition of playing scrabble at night. Our teenage daughters enjoyed the house and they both appreciated having wi-fi. There is plenty to do in the area but we enjoyed a few days of relaxing at the house. We hope the next time we are in the area this house is available. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our family and friends. Brian and Mary are gracious hosts that are willing to answer any questions about the home and the area and are full of ideas of things to do and places to see.

My husband and I were very pleased with this home. Listening to the brook was so peaceful and we loved watching the stars from the beautiful sunroom. The view of the snow-capped mountains from the deck was spectacular. Brian suggested several restaurants and shops in nearby towns and they were perfect for our needs. He answered all questions promptly and in a very friendly manner. The home was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for an amazing mountain getaway.

My husband and I, and my mother and aunt, recently enjoyed a week stay in this cabin in early June. Each morning, the temperature was in the mid-30's and the daytime temps were short sleeve comfortable. The cabin met our needs well. With the two beds on the ground floor, my mother and aunt did not have to climb stairs. Everything we needed was already there, all we had to do was enjoy our stay! It would also be a great place for a family with children with the great rec room in the downstairs area! The only suggestion I would make would be a simple handrail by the front step. I would certainly stay again, and highly recommend it!

Mountain Bliss

Our family had the best time staying at Brian and Mary's home. I was wonderful to retreat away from the hub-bub of the ski town and come home to peaceful surroundings. The location is 15 mins from Breckenridge so it is no problem getting to and from all the great things Breck has to offer. The home is cozy, clean, and you'll be so impressed by the maticulous woodworking that Brian has done throughout. We look forward to coming back again. It comfortably suited our family of four. Thanks again for opening up your home to us. - The Wimmers

A Beautiful Log Home Among the Aspens
Spent a long weekend in this home and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Brian & Mary are excellent hosts and their home provides all that could be desired for a vacation or short get-away. Their home can easily accommodate 6-8 individuals, has (3) full baths, a full kitchen with counter bar and table. Adjacent to the kitchen area is a common area for T.V. and relaxing (2) large comfortable sofas, and a sun room. A large game room resides on the first level and opens to a ground level deck. All in all plenty of room for everyone. The views are spectacular- Mt. Bross & Mt Lincoln are off their back deck and the Aspens were in full color! Their home is extremely well appointed and very comfortable. I feel that their home offers a real value for the rental price and definitely recommend it. We will use it again !

Beautiful Home in the Mountains
My family of four recently spent four days and three nights at this home. It is a wonderful location for a true rocky mountain experience. There are spectacular views of 14er's right outside your deck; it was very enjoyable to get up early in the morning and watch the changing patterns of the sunlight across the mountains and to observe deer in the field below. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and has a friendly and homey atmosphere with excellent accommodations (it is conveniently situated close to Breckenridge) Brian & Mary are most hospitable host. They even when to the trouble of looking for a sweater we left at their home and mailed it to us immediately. If we should ever return to the area, we would definitely love to stay here again. Great Place to Getaway
Your home is truly magnificent! The personal touches are to numerous to mention, but it really feels like a home. The central location is awesome- we weren't far from a number of activities (hiking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding). The view from the deck is outstanding... loved watching the alpine glow over the distant hills in the evening. And the stars,Wow. Words can't do them justice. We & the other couple with us were all thoroughly enjoyed staying there & will definitely keep you in mind for the next time we head to that part of Colorado. Thanks for sharing your home with us.-(Don'twannagohome) Holt's Summit Missouri August 29,2010

Great Home, great view, great time!
My wife and I spent 3 delightful nights in this home with our daughter and her good friend. The home was even more beautiful in person than we could of imagined. Everything looked new, clean and tastefully decorated. We hiked Mt.Lincoln, a nearby 14er, went white water rafting on the Arkansas, toured nearby Lincoln Falls and mine, and even took a side trip to Aspen and Breckenridge. We would definitely recommend this place!--(wishing I lived here) Houston, Texas..August 9, 2010

Aspen View
We traveled to Breckenridge over the summer and were extremely fortunate to find Brian & Mary's gorgeous home. Our family consists of 2 teenage boys, 2 pre-teen girls, my mother, my husband, and me. When we walked into their home, we knew that it was going to be a great trip. The decor of the home is perfect and in the master suite, we could open the window and hear the stream flowing during the night. We were concerned about everyone having a place to sleep but with 2 kings, 1 queen, 1 double, 1 futon couch and 2 singles along with 3 full baths which made getting ready easy in the morning, we all slept very comfortably. The kitchen had anything and everything you could think of. The many woodcarvings throughout the house were hand-crafted by Brian, which told me this home was very special to them. At night, while the adults sat out on the wrap-around deck, the children entertained themselves down in the well-furnished game room with darts, ping-pong, chess, and several board games. Since it was our first time in Breckenridge, we asked them for suggestions for activities. They could not have been more gracious and informative. Our trip was phenomenal. If you need a great place to stay with two wonderful hosts, Aspen Views most definitely fits the bill.--(Fredericksburg, Virginia...July 16, 2010

Spring in Alma
Dear Mary and Brian, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. The kitchen had everything one could wish for, the views were spectacular, the beds were so comfortable. Sleeping in the master bedroom on such a comfortable bed with the sounds of the brook running was wonderful! We hiked up to the old gold mine, biked from Breckenridge to Frisco and did a half day in Browns Canyon. It was a great vacation for us. Thank you for sharing your home.--Karen & Val (charlottesville,Virginia) May 29, 2010

Wonderful Personal touches
Peaceful and relaxing. This wonderful hideaway is close enough to the action but tucked away in a quiet retreat. The views are outstanding really giving you the feel of being in the Colorado backcountry with with all the conveniences. No neighbors to see only wildlife and wild flowers or lots of snow in the winter. The owners have apparently traveled alot because the personal touches are everywhere. Mexican tile along with the Mexican ceramic handpainted sink in the Masterbath were Beautiful! And the ping-pong table located with the downstairs bedrooms for the kids was perfect! Great find for the money! Tobias- (Roanoak, Virginia. Aug 9,2002
