October 25, 2012
This was the most relaxing vacation we had. The house was recently updated with a 42in flat screen TV in livingroom and 32in in the front bedroom. New tin roof sounded so nice when it rained. It is near the shopping centers, downtown with historic sites and quaint shoppes, beach access very close. I think you will llove this place as much as we did. The weather was terrific and the ocean was just right,There is a varitity of restaurants, not to expensive, plenty of fresh shirmp, if you like to fish this is the spot ,south end of island , we have a 4 wheel drive and drove out on the beach to fish.Wow what a sight.

Amelia Island Travel Tips for Families
When planning a vacation to Amelia Island, it is important that you make the right decisions regarding your trip. The time of the year and location of the Amelia island condo rentals that you choose from will all depend on a certain knowledge of the island as well as your vacation needs. While browsing online for the right accommodations for your family, you'll find rentals that are available in various locations around the island. Investigating what attractions and events are located nearest the dwellings that you are interested in can help you make the best decision on where to stay. The time of year may have little impact on the particular Amelia Island home rentals that you choose from, but it will let you know what type of weather to prepare for. On average, temperatures in the summer are in the 90s, the mid-60s in the winter, and in the 70s in the spring.
Neighborhoods
There are several communities that are located on the island. While these communities are more cities than neighborhoods, they may affect your decision when it comes to choosing vacation rentals. Amelia Island is the home of Amelia city, a community that is situated on the southern half of the island. The downtown district of Amelia Island is the location for the city of Fernandina Beach; browse Amelia Island vacation rentals in this neighborhood if your interests include antiques and boutiques. Fernandina Beach also hosts several of the events that take place on the island, making it a highly desirable location to choose a home or condo to rent.
Attractions
When staying at one of the Amelia Island vacation rentals, you and your family will be well-rested for the many attractions that are on the island. One of the more popular family friendly attractions is the Nature Center - Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. Here the family gets to travel by bike, kayak, or even travel via Segway, while experiencing nature alongside a knowledgeable naturalist. Families with young children can take advantage of specific child-oriented tours that are available, as well as other kid-friendly activities that will help round out a day of Florida fun. For families interested in the area's history, the Amelia Island Museum of History is an attraction that should not be missed. The island boasts thirteen miles of beaches, which are always a fun choice for kids and adults alike. For families that plan to spend a good deal of time on the beach, selecting from the available Amelia Island beach house rentals is a wise and convenient course of action. Other outdoor spots that are suitable for families include the Amelia Island State Park which runs along the southern tip of the island and Fort Clinch State Park in the Fernandina Beach community.
Events
Events on Amelia Island are plentiful and may affect your choice of Amelia Island rentals. During the month of October, the Amelia Island Jazz Festival takes place on the island and can be a great treat to music lovers. The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival is an annual occurrence in May and is a great reason to choose a rental in the Fernando Beach area. Another wonderful reason to visit in the month of May is the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival.
